The Congress seems to be losing the last remnants of political decency in a manner which is totally condemnable. A party, whose State president has spoken of party building as opposed to winning elections through compromises, now seems to be on the verge of changing its entire tune, and throwing a different pitch, of parties
wanting to keep the BJP out should come together.
It’s really not funny that this epiphany has struck the Congress after the nomination process for candidates has commenced and is on the verge of concluding. When you decide on the last few days left to file nominations that a grand anti-BJP coalition should be formed after candidates have been finalised by both sides, this isn’t a well thought out party decision. This is decision of party brokers, called ‘dalals’ or middlemen or fixers that has dampened the morale of the party beyond imagination.
There has been no attempt to hear the voice of the people. And which is why Herald has stepped in. The Congress has sought to weaken its own institution and given a big thumbs down to simple organisation building.
Does a party which insults its own State president and allows fixers to take over have any right to go to the people?
