Why the traffic jam

Verna police attributed the reason for traffic jams as vehicles were being checked at the Cortalim junction and not because of the mega musical festivals in North Goa.
They said vehicular traffic proceeding towards Vasco, Panjim, Margao and Loutolim had to be let off in a phased manner at the Cortalim junction adding that they managed to clear the traffic within an hour. Normal traffic was later restored on the highway.
