VASCO: Unfazed by possible repercussions over moves by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) to alienate Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho, newly elected Dabolim Block Congress President Anacleto D’Souza has avowed to rebuild the block Congress from scratch.
“We are going to build a strong Congress organisation from the grassroots,” said D’Souza, who is a former Chicalim sarpanch and sitting panch.
“After being elected as Dabolim Block Congress president, I did not get enough time to meet the Congress workers. Now that I am free, I will meet the workers and others who are supporting the party and will form a strong force of loyal Congressmen,” D’Souza told Herald. Asked to react on GPCC’s moves to alienate Godinho following his absence in the Lok Sabha campaign for the Congress candidate, D’Souza replied: “I do not wish to speak on behalf of GPCC and till date Godinho is a Congress member and an MLA of the party.” D’Souza was, however, confident that the Dabolim Block Congress Committee would overcome the vacuum created by Godinho.
