VASCO: Referring to media report about students and teachers at Government School at Headland Sada fearing for their safety due to the presence and activities of few anti-social elements near school premises, Mormugao MLA Milind Naik on Saturday assured to clampdown on all such activities.
He also urged to the residents, PTA members and the school staff to remain vigilant and immediately report to him whenever they find any anti-social in the area.
Naik was addressing the gathering on the occasion of Teachers Day celebration program held at Government School at Headland Sada, on Saturday.
“I don’t support such activities by the antisocial elements. If you all are scared to question them then please tell me I will teach them a lesson. We will not tolerate the presence of anti-social people near the school premises. Be it parents, teachers or any other local resident, feel free to complaint to me about any illegal activities by antisocial elements near or inside the school premises. We don’t want teachers or students to feel unsafe in the school premises,” he said.
“The way parents keep their wards secured in their house, I feel that it is my duty to make school premises equally safe and without any fear. I will surely make this happen. As your MLA, it is my duty to make each and every youth of Mormugao constituency feel safe. In coming days you will find Mormugao, a nuisance free constituency and I am aggressively working in this direction and steps against anti-social activities and elements are being taken in phase manner,” he informed.
