MARGAO: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has stated that the he would not change anything in the grant pattern of the medium of instruction at this juncture. He also reiterated that the bill for grants to English medium schools is with the Select Committee and he would not disturb any schedule presently.
Parsekar was speaking at the Christmas Fiesta 2015 organised by the Diocesan Society of Education in collaboration with the Directorate of Art and Culture on Friday.
He further stated that Goa is one of the best states in the field of education and that the Diocesan Society has made the biggest contribution to the field. He added, “The Diocesan Society has the largest number of institutes and also largest number of students. Its contributions are immeasurable.”
President of the Diocesan Society of Education, Fr Joseph Silva urged Parsekar to approve new schools of the DSE.
Awards were presented to schools for their achievements during the past year, while cultural programmes were also held.
