PERNEM: Deputy Chief Minister and TCP Minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar on Wednesday assured to protect the private properties dedicated for crematoriums by not allowing any construction or development on such land, during the inauguration of Town and Country Planning office which was shifted to the first floor of Pernem Bus stand premises.
He was responding to Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte, who had pointed out that several villages in Mandrem constituency face problems with regards to cremation since the crematoriums are located in private properties, which are sold to outsiders for development purpose and the locals are not allowed to use the land for the same.
He said people can apply for the single dwelling facility via online mode.
