MARGAO: South Goa Additional Collector, Prasanna Acharya on Thursday said that he would write to the Public Works Department (PWD) seeking an immediate action plan and corrective measures for the pothole ridden roads.
Acharya was speaking at the South Goa District Road Safety Council meeting which deliberated on the bad condition of roads in the district.
Officials of the National Highway, Margao Traffic Cell, Road Transport and others attended the meeting, which was chaired by Acharya. However, no PWD official was present for the meeting. The officials said the panchayats are not proactive in improving the road conditions. Acharya said, “We will also write to the Director of Panchayats and Director of Municipal Administration to ensure that panchayats and municipalities are represented at the meeting”.
