Will work hard to make Goa an IT hub, and a centre of education: Gandhi

MARGAO: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at a public meeting held at Curtorim market, said the Congress party has already allocated Rs. 500 crore for generating employment in Goa, after coming to power.

“We will work hard to make Goa an IT hub, and a centre of education. All efforts will be to help small and medium businesses,” he stated.

He appealed to people of the constituency to question the former Congress MLA and Independent candidate Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco pertaining to the support he is getting from to contest the election.

“People of Curtorim need to ask the defector from Curtorim that from where he is getting the support and from which party,” said Rahul. He assured the people that every decision will be taken after due consideration with the Goans, once in power.

“Congress party will give full protection to the composite culture, secularism and history of Goa. Congress party is of all religion, all caste and all community, and hence will give protection to all the people of Goa,” said Rahul.

He further said that Goa’s biggest challenges are employment and economic challenges. “Economic disaster has been witnessed in Goa because of the mismanagement of the BJP government. We are fully dedicated to this State in the frontline pertaining to employment, and development,” said Gandhi.

“Our government is not of one man, and our Chief Minister will listen to the voice of the people. We have proven this before,” he added.
