Drishti Lifesaving Pvt Ltd in a statement issued said that the company has been willing to continue the employment of a majority of the lifeguards who have stayed away from work. It also said that the beaches are well supervised and safe for visitors.
“All beaches continued to be manned effectively by a team of highly-skilled lifeguards, supervisors and trainers. In addition, the company has deployed additional equipment and resources to augment any operational gaps,” the company spokesperson said.
Drishit said that a team of highly-skilled and dedicated lifeguards is being added to the force. Lifesaving trainings are underway for the team of 19 lifeguards and lifeguard captains. On successful completion of the course, the individuals will be inducted into the lifeguard force, which mans and patrols the coast of Goa.
16 of the new recruits hail from parts of Goa.
