MARGAO: After a day of celebrations, some of the winning candidates from the panchayats of Davorlim-Dicarpale and Varca have worked out their internal alliances, and have announced the formation of independent panels to govern their respective villages in an efficient manner.

The panel consists of Herculano Niasso, Vidhi Varak, Francisco Dias, Carmino Carvalho, Menino Colaco, Michelle Miranda and Myla Rocha.
Herculano Niasso told Herald that all seven newly-elected panch members will remain united and will take the charge of the panchayat.
“We will work unitedly. Our focus will be a clean and green panchayat and all the issues faced by the people will be taken into consideration, and resolved to the best of our abilities,” he said.
Similarly, a panel of six newly-elected members has been put together and is all set to take charge of the Varca village panchayat.
Sharon Da Costa, daughter of former Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao is not a part of this panel, and the allied members made it a point to inform people of this. The six members have chosen Salesiana ‘Selu’ Fernandes as their Sarpanch.
One of the winning candidates Crosly Charlton Lourenco, said that they were going ahead with a “people’s panel” to head the panchayat, which has no affiliation with present or former MLAs of the Benaulim constituency.
The six members include Salesiana Fernandes, Roland Domingo Fernandes, who will be the Deputy Sarpanch, Crosly Charlton Lourenco, Flavia Barreto, Salon Furtado and Baptisto Fernandes.
