Winners of various KBM’s 57th anniversary awards announced

MARGAO: Konkani Bhasha Mandal (KBM) will be celebrating its 57th anniversary on Monday, September, 30 at Pai Tiatrist Hall in Ravindra Bhavan Margao.
Veteran Indian writer Uday Bhembre will be the Chief Guest. Writer Dr. Kiran Budkule, President of All Goa Industries Association, Damodar Kochkar, Editor of Gulab Magazine Fausto D’Costa, Curator of Goa Central Library Carlos Fernandes and Entrepreneur Pravin Kakode will be the Guests of Honour. 
Veteran Konkani protagonist Gurunath Kelekar will be presented the service to Konkani language award. Marcos Gonsalves will be presented the Ligoriyo Furtado Trust award for Konkani Journalist and Dr Bhushan Bhave who teaches at PES College will be presented the Felicio Cardoso memorial award for Konkani teacher.
Anthony Vaz from Cansaulim will be presented the Jose Piedade Quadros memorial Konkani activist award while the late Narsinh Damodar Naik literary award will be presented to Radar Bhave for her book Jivacho Patong, which is a collection of essays.
The late Roque Barreto memorial literary award will be presented to Rupa Kossambe for the book of essays titled “Pol’lu” and the Chandrakant Keni memorial award will be presented to Abhay Kumar Velingkar. KBM’s literary award will be presented to Mahesh Naik for his play titled “Ossoy Carneval”.
The award for children’s literature will be presented to Sumedha Kamat Dessai for her book “Sumichem Konttengrim, and the Ramnath Manerkar memorial award for translations will be presented to Sandesh Bandekar for his translation titled “Onvanni”.
The award for best research papers written on Konkani language will be presented to Sakharam Borkar for his writings on Konkani idioms.
