MARGAO: South Goa Collector Swapnil Naik has passed an order Wednesday allowing the employees of Western India Shipyard Ltd (WISL) to enter the yard.
In his order, the Collector has said, “After considering the above application/representation, it is felt that no harm will be caused by allowing the representation, provided the workers do not in any way obstruct the process of conducting salvaging operation to control the spillage of oil from the grounded vessel M V Qing.”
The collector’s order warns the workers that if the cause any obstruction to the salvaging operation, then, the permission to enter the yard would be withdrawn without notice.
The collector’s order allows the workers to enter the ship yard premises within the barricades set up by the MPT and sit in the shed where they were earlier sitting for the strike.
