VASCO: The laid off workers of the Western India Shipyard Limited (WISL) are wary over the hide and seek in liquidation of assets of the firm.
The workers have warned of blocking any further movement of assets liquidation if the appointed liquidator fails to give details of the share of the money due to the workers during the liquidation process.
The laid off staff met the liquidator Om Prakash Kanungo to convey their warning to the WISL and the persons undertaking the process. Union Leader Ajit Singh Rane said that the shipyard has been shut down illegally.
“The government has not done anything regarding the illegal closure of the WISL. Now the Government has appointed a liquidator and it is the duty of the liquidator to work neutrally,” he said.
