With 98.5% Margao’s Shreya Bhat is one of Goa’s SSC toppers

MARGAO: Shreya Bhat from Margao scored one of the highest marks in the Goa Board Secondary School Certification (SSC) examinations that were declared on June 1. A student of Ravindra Kelekar Dnyanmandir School Vidyanagar Margao, Bhat has scored 98.5% marks and emerged as one of the toppers in the State. Bhat exclaimed that she was ecstatic when she got to know of her results stating that she did not anticipate scoring such high marks.

 “I used to study before and after classes, solve previous years question papers and revise what the teachers had taught us,” said Shreya.

 Bhat gives credit of her academic success to her parents and teachers and now aspires to pursue a career in engineering. “My parents have been very supportive and so have the teachers, they were always available whenever I needed help,” said Bhat.

Bhat’s father Paresh Bhat expressed his joy over his daughter’s achievements saying that she had always been a hardworking student. “She has always been smart and has scored 98.5% with hard work and dedication. I always knew she’d make us proud,” said Paresh.

Margao MLA Digambar Kamat congratulated Bhat over her achievement stating that she’s made Margao and Goa proud. “She has scored one of the highest marks in the State and in school, so we came to congratulate her,” said Kamat.

Knowing Shreya from a very young age, councillor ward no. 21 Margao Municipality Damodar Shirodkar did not expect her to score such a high percentage. “She has always been a shy girl, I did not expect her to score such high marks. She has made us proud,” said Shirodkar
