PANJIM: As the State reports steady rise in Covid-19 cases, the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) has commenced surveillance across Goa and public are directed to follow Covid appropriate behaviour. Total 109 active cases as on date.
In a statement issued, the DHS has also informed about two confirmed cases of seasonal influenza subtype H3N2 and that both the patients are doing well.
The DHS said that there has been a rise in cases of Covid-19 in the State of Goa, as seen in many other parts of the country. Active cases are 109 and two H3N2 cases have been detected in the State.
“Surveillance is ongoing in the State of Goa for Covid-19 and Influenza as per Ministry Guidelines,” he said.
The DHS has advised to general public is to follow up Covid appropriate behaviour such as observe good personal hygiene, practice frequent hand washing with soap, follow respiratory etiquettes — cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing as far as possible try to cough in elbow, avoid close contact with people who are unwell or showing symptoms of illness, such as cough, runny nose and wear a mask.
The DHS has asked the people with co-mobility to visit health centres in case they are not feeling well and the school going children are advised to stay home if unwell.
The DHS also advised not to spit in public and not to take medicine without consulting the doctor.
