Woman approaches police higher-ups accusing PSI of mistreating her

Complains that cop allegedly threw her complaint copy and shooed her away from the police station

PANJIM: A widow, who had gone to the Old Goa Police station with a complaint of her missing underage daughter, has now approached police higher-ups accusing a police sub inspector of mistreating her.

Hailing from Merces, the woman sought the local police’s assistance to look out for her 15-year-old daughter, who is reportedly kidnapped by a history sheeter. She was however mistreated by a PSI named Redkar, after which she approached NGO Hope Foundation to not only lodge a complaint of kidnapping but also press for action against the errant PSI.

“I am a poor widow whose minor daughter from Merces is missing since 8am today (Jan 18) morning…. On knowing that my daughter is missing from (name of the school), we rushed to Panjim women’s cell police station at 10am who instructed us to go to Old Goa police station. On coming here we narrated the incident to the officer who was going to initiate the complaint process, suddenly a younger officer, a PSI, started screaming aggressively (at the mother) saying “It’s your fault, u r the mother, if u cannot handel (handle) your daughter, don’t come to us,” an email communication from NGO HelplineIndia Goa to NGO Hope Foundation stated.

The aggrieved mother also complained that the PSI allegedly threw her complaint copy and shooed her away from the police station.

Sources in the department said they are inquiring into the alleged episode at the police station.
