Woman attacked at Fatrade

MARGAO: Colva Police on Monday registered an offence against one unknown person for attacking a married woman, aged 35, of Varca, with a knife and causing her injuries, at Fatrade, late Sunday night.

Police said that the accused person has not been identified as yet and further investigation is in progress.

Police said that while the victim was driving home, an unknown person stopped her car at Fatrade and when she came out of the car, all of a sudden the person attacked her with a knife causing injuries on her body.  

Police said that based on the complaint lodged by the victim, an offence under Section 324 and 506 (ii) of Indian Penal Code for causing hurt and threatening with dire consequences has been registered.

According to police, the woman had gone to her mother’s place at Navelim and while returning back home at Varca, one unknown person came on the road at Fatrade and stopped her car. The agitated woman asked him to move away from the road so that she could proceed with her car. However, he refused to move aside.

Police said that despite giving warning to the accused person several times he did not move away from the road and finally the victim came out of her car to question him.

Further, the police said that when she questioned the unknown person, he removed a knife and attacked her, causing injuries and threatened her that he would shoot her and later left from the place. 

Police said that the motive behind attached is not known and they are in search of the unknown person.

“The victim was taken for medical examination and report has been collected,” informed the police.
