PANJIM: The Panjim police are investigating the death of a 21 year-old woman, who allegedly committed suicide at her residence on Sunday morning.
The victim is identified as Suman Gaudar allegedly hung herself at her house, Panjim police said. Since her death is within seven years of marriage, the sub divisional magistrate will also conduct an inquiry. The victim’s family members will be called for questioning, police said.
On Saturday, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, in a reply to a question, told the State Assembly that depression, stress and frustration are the prime reasons for suicide in the State, as these causes have led to over 25 percent of the suicide cases reported in the Goa since 2014.
