A woman pedestrian from Sasmollem, Baina, succumbed to her injuries after being struck by a Mahindra Thar at Alto Mangoor, Vasco, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Genadevi Jaiswar, a resident of Sasmollem, Baina. According to police, she sustained serious head injuries in the accident and was rushed for medical treatment. However, she later succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.

Police have booked the driver of the vehicle, identified as Abhijit Rane of Orolim, for allegedly driving in a rash and negligent manner, resulting in the fatal accident.
