PONDA: A 40-year-old scooterist from Santa Cruz, Ponda, died after she was knocked down by a trailer at Kalimathi-Bhoma, Ponda, on Wednesday. Vehicular traffic along the Panjim-Ponda was blocked for about an hour due to the accident. According to reports, Maria Rodrigues was proceeding on her scooter (GA-05-H-5729) towards Ponda a trailer (GJ-02-V-7907), which was proceeding towards Panjim hit her, killing her instantaneously. Ponda police rushed to the site and referred the body to the GMC Hospital in Bambolim. Later, Ponda police cleared the accident vehicles and cleared the road for traffic.
