MARGAO: The Margao police on Tuesday arrested two Uttar Pradesh natives for viciously attacking a woman near Margao Railway Station late on Sunday night, leaving her with serious injuries. The victim, identified as Renuka Bahadur, was assaulted by three men. Her leg and hand were fractured in the attack, and she is currently receiving treatment at Goa Medical College Hospital, Bambolim.
The police have identified the arrested men as Sujit Kumar Singh and Dilip Kumar. The third accused, Sunil Kumar Singh, is currently on the run. No weapon has been recovered at this time. The police have registered a case against the accused under IPC Sections 326 and 504. According to the police, both Sujit and Sunil Kumar Singh have prior criminal records. The incident occurred when Bahadur was returning home after buying food past midnight, and an altercation with the trio resulted in the attack.
