PANJIM: The weekend witnessed a single rescue of an Iranian woman at Chapora. A 24-year-old woman from Iran ventured into the Chapora River for a swim and got pulled by a rip current. Noticing the victim struggling, a shack owner immediately informed Drishti lifesavers Sachin Naik and Suhas Gawas, who relayed rescue call and immediately rushed to the victim’s rescue.
After securing her to the rescue board, they brought her ashore on a jetski.
Meanwhile, a thief was nabbed in broad daylight by Drishti lifesavers at Bogmalo Beach.
