MAPUSA: Anjuna Police on Thursday booked an unknown person in connection with a gold snatching case.
According to Anjuna Police, on January 14, a lady working as a daily wage labour was proceeding from Parra side to Gandhi Circle, Mapusa and on reaching near the Bodgeshwar Temple, Mapusa, an unknown person approached her on a scooter and asked her that he needs women labourers to cut the bushes.
The lady later sat on his scooter and the accused took her to a jungle at Anjuna and snatched her mangalsutra worth Rs 50,000 and her purse containing Rs 4,000 in cash and fled leaving his scooter on the road. Anjuna Police have registered an offence under Sections 356,379 of the IPC. PSI Amir Taral is investigating the case.
