A 75-year-old woman’s body was found in a decomposed state inside a house in Bastora late on Sunday evening.
Locals informed the police that a foul smell was emanating from the house. Police broke open the door and found the decomposed body of the woman, identified as Sukanti Kudnekar.
According to neighbours the woman was staying alone in her home and could have been dead for 5 days. The body has been sent to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim for post-mortem.
The police have registered the case as unnatural death and further investigations are on.
