VASCO: The new municipal ward reservation has changed many calculations in municipal politics. Several aspirants, former councillors and the previously floated panels backed by political parties have surely effected with this new order in Mormugao municipal area for Civic polls.

In previously made municipal ward reservation from ward number 1 to 9 there was no reservation for women specifically in Mormugao constituency. Currently as per the fresh ward reservation in ward number 1 to 9, 1, 3 and 9 ward has been reserved for women. Ward number 3 has been OBC women and 9 ward has been reserved for schedule caste. Ward 6 and 8 are reserved for OBC. Total give wards are reserved in Mormugao constituency.

In Vasco area, ward 10, 13, 15, 19, 20 are reserved for women from which ward 19 is for OBC. Ward 20 has also been declared as women reserved.

Some wards from Dabolim constituency 21 to 25, ward 21 and 24 reserved for women in which 24 is ST women reserved and ward 22 and 25 is reservation for OBC as per fresh ward reservation.

The calculations prepared before seems to have gone down the drain due to the new municipal ward reservation. Many strongmen and party backed candidates, new aspirants and the former councillors have faced their nightmare which they never expected that they will have to face.

The internal difference among the BJP MLAs and the candidates backed by them are assumed to be affected in this arrangement.
