MARGAO: National Women’s Forum along with various other organisations held a protest in Margao opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), on Tuesday.
The women gathered at the municipal garden and protested against the Act and NRC. Former Benaulim sarpanch and social activist Royla Fernandes termed the CAA and NRC as unconstitutional and questioned the Members of Parliament and MLAs for being silent on the issue affecting the people.
Goa Women’s Forward representative Ashma Sayed said, “If they come to ask you for documents tell them that you won’t give; we will fill the jails in big numbers and show them our strength.”
