PANJIM: The second term of Vidhya Shet Tanawde as Chairperson of Goa State Commission for Women has come to an abrupt end following her resignation.
Tanawde tendered her resignation to the government on November 10. When Herald contacted her, she confirmed quitting as the Commission’s Chairperson but refrained from citing exact reason for doing do.
“I transmitted my resignation letter on November 10. I have personal reasons for leaving the post,” she told Herald when asked why she had resigned from the post.
The fate of the Commission now hangs in balance as it is reportedly learnt that no members have resigned yet. The Commission comprises of a Chairperson, Member Secretary and seven members.
This was Tanawde’s second stint after successfully completely first term from 2013-16.
