PANJIM: Women’s organisations, individuals, and civil society groups in the state of Goa have expressed their solidarity with the wrestlers who have been protesting for months, demanding a swift investigation and arrest of accused MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in multiple cases of alleged sexual harassment. Sabina Martins, convenor of Bailanco Saad, emphasized that the wrestlers’ struggle against sexual harassment is representative of the struggles faced by thousands of women fighting for justice. The protestors lamented that the accused often go unpunished while victims are threatened and assaulted, which further emboldens criminals to commit heinous crimes against women.
