Wondering whether support to Parrikar was a mistake: GFP

MARGAO: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President Vijai Sardessai has revealed that the party is still figuring out whether it was a mistake to support the Manohar Parrikar-led government in 2017. Vijai said that they are expecting answers and would continue to search till there is clarity.
Stating that they are ashamed at going with BJP and forming the government, Vijai said, “Did we make a mistake by supporting Manohar Parrikar is what we are wondering at. The answer may not be in Goa but may be there in Delhi and I am waiting for the answer.”
“Second question is: Should we have withdrawn support after Parrikar died and shouldn’t have supported the new replacement? I constantly face criticism on Facebook questioning on why I continued to support the next government after Parrikar’s demise. Avoid or neglect but will have to face the answer,” Vijai said.
He also said that he expects to get a new road ahead in politics, at least after the Maharashtra elections, which Vijai said his party would take.
“The government will have to give answers and their honeymoon period will be over soon,” Vijai said.
Vijai was the deputy chief minister in the late Parrikar-led government.
“Backstabbing is backstabbing. And backtracking on assurances made in the assembly which is the temple of democracy is the biggest backstabbing,” Vijai said.
Vijai mentioning the work of new KTC bus stand at Margao said that while the Government is reeling in debts there is a project of Rs 700 crore on PPP to be taken ahead. “I have a confirmation on the meeting to hold discussion on the KTC project, but don’t know whether it will happen or not. But, we know what to do if they evade,” Vijai said.
