VASCO: The workers of an automobile company held a peaceful protest rally at Verna on Monday evening.

The workers at the rally alleged the harassment by the company.

In a letter addressed to the Verna Police outpost in-charge, the workers after various deliberations before the Deputy Labour Commissioner’s Office at Margao had gone on strike from December 29, 2020.

In the letter, the workers’ union stated that the company management has been forcibly removing the union’s flags and banners.

The union accused the management of instigating the workers.

With the management not inclined to discuss the issues, the workers unanimously decided and held a rally from the workshop to the company’s head office.
