VASCO: The Members of the Goa unit of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) on Friday staged a protest in front of the Regional Labour Commissioner at Vasco on Friday.
Speaking to mediapersons, a BMS leader alleged that the protest was held as it was realised that the Regional Labour Commissioner was adopting anti-labour and pro-management decisions.
“Today we held a protest against the Regional Labour Commissioner as he is acting against the working class. He should accord preference to the interests of the workers but he is doing otherwise. We have raised various issues with the management of Goa Shipyard Limited, such as non-sanction of paternity leave. We raised this dispute with the Regional Labour Commissioner but he did not take any action. He keeps on making excuses. Now we have realised that he is working in favour of the management,” a BMS leader charged.
The BMS leader further stated that they had written to various authorities demanding that the Regional Labour Commissioner be transferred immediately for failing to safeguard the interest of the toiling class.
