MARGAO: Expressing concern about the dilemma faced by Goan seafarers who are affected by the circulars on validity of the courses conducted by some institutes, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has said that the party is coordinating the efforts to alleviate the anxiety of the seafarers. Capt Venzy Viegas has taken up the matter with the office of the DG shipping Mumbai. AAP General Secretary Pradeep Padgaonkar informed that their Seafarers cell chief Capt Viegas who has been in constant touch with the office of the DG over the issue of anxiety caused among the seafarers, as a result of the circular, has ascertained that a special counter within the reception desk has been opened at DG Shipping office at Kharghar on the 9th floor to handle the cases of those seafarers who have received letters through emails for ‘Verification of Certificates’. He informed that the sea farers cell would be providing all guidance and assistance to seafarers at the party’s Margao office at Madel Pequeno.
