PANJIM: The Department of Chemistry, Govt College of Arts, Science and Commerce Khandola, Marcela organised a one-day workshop on “Safety in Laboratory” in collaboration with Syngenta India recently.
The workshop was aimed at educating teachers, laboratory staff and students on the safety to be followed while working in laboratories.
Dr Kamlesh Pai Fondekar highlighted the importance of creating a safe working environment in the laboratory. Deepa Somanathan, Syngenta India Limited, spoke on “Chemical Management in Laboratories” and Dr Parag Sawant equipped the participants for handling medical emergencies in a laboratory.
Nitin Raiker, Deputy Director, Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, Panjim, was the chief guest at the valedictory function and spoke on the importance of a safe working environment in a laboratory.
