CANACONA: A workshop on scientific cultivation of coconut and value addition was held for the benefit of farmers of Cola and surrounding areas on Thursday. The program was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar.
The workshop on scientific cultivation of coconut and its value addition was jointly organised by Directorate of Agriculture, Coconut Development board Cochi Kerala, and ATMA south and ZAO Canacona
The resource persons explained to the over 250 farmers present on scientific coconut cultivation technologies and value addition in coconut to increase productivity and profitability.
Stress was given on adopting improved production technologies in coconut for improvement of productivity of coconut in the State.
Panch members of Cola panchayat highlighted the grievances faced by the coconut farmers from the area and the deputy chief minister assured them that he would look in the matter and solve the issues pertaining to coconut farmers and their difficulties.
