QUEPEM: The Water Resources Department has started building a boundary wall around the large tank at Karali, Quepem, where a villager got drowned earlier this month.
It might be recalled that Herald had carried a report on October 7 that a villager from Kusman had lost his life by drowning at this spot.
Deputy Collector Quepem Nilesh Dhaigodkar said after the Herald report, the Water Resources Department (WRD) was alerted on the danger of the tank and the officials began constructing a wall to prevent further deaths. Karali locals said the WRD had taken this step after many years of negligence.
