WRD has floated tender for WTP at Pilerne: Minister

MAPUSA: Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo on Thursday informed the Water Resource Department has floated a tender for the proposed water treatment plant at Pilerne.

“The WRD has issued a tender notice for the proposed water treatment plant at Pilerne. The estimated cost of the project is 16, 89,33,837. The 30 MLT project will be ready in one-and-half year,” Lobo said.

“I thank the Chief Minister, WRD Minister and Principal Chief Engineer for processing the project work,” he said.

Reportedly he had saidwater woes of Calangute and Saligao Constituency will resolved and people will receive 24 hours water supply once the 30 MLD plant commences.

”A water pipeline from Tilari is coming to Calangute Police Station. This pipeline will be further taken to Calangute plateau where the plant will be located on the government acquired land. Five MLD raw water will be given to IDC while remaining will be treated and supplied to neighbouring villages,” Lobo said.
