Writer Naik advises youth to be pillars of social movement

MARGAO: Senior Konkani writer Pundalik Naik, while addressing the Konkani youth activists, said young activists are the pillars of every social movement. An activist should always be humble and committed and should be well aware of their duties and responsibilities in the movement, he said. 

He was speaking on the occasion of inauguration of late Nityanand Naik Memorial activist camp organised by Konkani Bhasha Mandal (KBM), Goa, Ravindra Kelekar Dyanmandir and Savai-Verencho Sakhayahari. Youth activists from all over Goa participated in this camp.

Naik further appreciated the organisers for conducting such much-needed camps and elaborated his experiences and memories of Konkani movement.

Anant Agni, the Headmaster of Ravindra Kelekar Dyanmandir welcomed the guests President of KBM Anwesha Singbal, Brijesh Shet Desai and Gaurang Bhandiye also spoke.

Various sessions were conducted during these two days. The writer and lyricist Dr Purnanand Chari recalled the contribution of late Nityanand Naik in the Konkani movement and briefed the participants on the qualities of a selfless activist through his work.

Singbal appealed the youth to take up the activities in their villages with regards to the education, literature and other aspects of the Konkani language.
