PANJIM: Two Konkani writers from Goa, Tukaram Rama Shet and Tanvi Kamat Bambolkar won the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Awards for the year 2023.
Shet won the Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2023 for his novel ‘Jaann’ while writer Kamat Bambolkar won the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2023 for her Konkani Book – ‘Shots’ (a short story collection).
In all 20 writers across as many Indian languages have won the literary awards.
This year no award has been given for Kashmiri language while, award in Manipuri language will be announced on a later date.
The awardees will be presented with a cash prize of Rs one lakh, a shawl and a copper shield.
