QUEPEM: Xeldem gram Sabha has been postponed to February 21 due lack of quorum.
However, a few locals present at the meeting demanded the postponement of the gram sabha till next date and asked panchayat to publicise the meeting by pasting notices in each ward to ensure a large gathering of locals.
The villagers blamed the panchayat for the fixing the meeting at 4 pm.
Sarpanch Caitan Lima said, “The BDO directed us to hold the gram Sabha on February 14, as the other panchayats too had their meetings today.”
Xeldem panchayat secretary Ravindra Wadekar said, “The BDO office had directed us to hold the gram Sabha on Sunday morning. However, due to some important family commitment, which I already discussed with sarpanch before, the gram Sabha was scheduled at 4 pm.”
