MARGAO: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) — Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Yatra which is to cover 75 cities in 75 days, reached Goa where the role played by chartered accountants (CAs) in strengthening the MSMEs as the backbone of the Indian economy were highlighted.
President of the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Ralph De Souza and the Secretary of the Goa State Industries Association (GSIA) Kiran Sirsat flagged off the yatra vehicle in an event organised by the Goa branch of ICAI’s Western India Regional Council (WIRC).
Chairperson of the Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI, CA Gaurav Kenkre said they had organised a series of events to commemorate the celebrations.
“We will focus on local needs of MSMEs and popularising the MSME schemes,” he said.
GCCI President DeSouza acknowledged the efforts of ICAI in supporting MSMEs in Goa. “ICAI and GCCI routinely have joint knowledge-based events for the benefit of trade and commerce at large. This provides much needed fillip to micro and small enterprises,” said DeSouza.
