MARGAO, OCT 8
Expressing confidence that Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurrapa would be ousted from office on October 11, Janata Dal Secular and former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy asserted his party MLAs together with the Congress will vote against the confidence motion against the Chief Minister.
He, however, evaded a query from newsmen whether the Janata Dal and the Congress would form the next government, saying all these questions are hypothetical for the moment.
When newsmen drew his attention to a statement by the Karnataka Chief Minister stating that the rebellion against him is over, Kumaraswamy said all the MLAs holed up in Taj Exotic are united and together. “You will know the real fact within the next 48 hours.. The decision of these MLAs will be known in the next 2-3 days”, he said, adding that the MLAs will not succumb to pressures from any quarters.
When newsmen pressed the Janata Dal leader with queries to throw light on his presence in the resort, Kumarasway said he had just come to the hotel to take rest. He left for Bangalore later in the evening.
