Valpoi police has registered a complaint against a youth from Thane-Pali on charges of assaulting a woman from the village on Wednesday evening.
According to Valpoi police, Sanjay Gaonker (25) allegedly pelted a stone on Shakuntala Ainker (22) and seriously injured her head. she is presently undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim.
Shakuntala’s father, Ganesh, later filed a police complaint that Sanjay had assaulted Shakuntala while she was returning from her field on Wednesday evening.
Police is on the lookout for the accused and PI Shivram Vainganker is investigating the case.
