Youth held for petrol theft at Sirvodem

MARGAO, DEC 18  
The Margao police have arrested one person for stealing petrol from vehicles at Sirvodem in the wee hours of Thursday.
The incident is believed to have occurred at Sirvodem at around 3 am when the accused was caught red-handed while petrol from a vehicle.
Former Margao Municipal Chairperson, Johnson Fernandes informed that the youngster from Chinchal was caught by his brother while he was returning home in the wee hours.
The accused was later handed over to the police and is believed to have confessed of his involvement in other similar offences.
Margao police are investigating.
Cheating case: The Cuncolim police have registered a case of cheating against an unknown person, who posing as a policemen, had decamped with a debit card from a carpenter at Assolna village three days ago.
PI Sidhant Shirodkar said the police have obtained vital clues in the case and expressed confidence to achieve a breakthrough.

Copyright: The Margao police have registered a case against a firm under the Copyright Act this evening.
Margao PI Rajendra Prabhudesai said that the case has been registered following a complaint lodged by one N Sawant against the firm.
The complainant stated that the firm has been transmitting programs without the permission and licence of the concerned company.
