MAPUSA: The Calangute Police on Monday arrested a 21-year-old Bharat Halakir, resident of Mapusa, for allegedly possessing narcotic substance suspected to be ganja.

According to information obtained from Calangute Police, a team comprising of Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo, Police Sub-Inspector Navin Dessai, Head Constables Vinod Naik, Devidas Haldankar, Police Constables Vinay Shrivastav, Suresh Naik, Dinesh Morajkar apprehended the alleged accused on Saturday night for illegally possession of 483 grams narcotic substance suspected to be ganja worth Rs 48, 300, which was found in Activa scooter.
The accused person has been remanded to police custody till February 23.
Further investigation is in progress.
