In a tragic accident, a young motorcycle rider, Nisal Ahmed (17), died on the spot, while the pillion rider sustained grievous injuries in the accident at Navelim on Wednesday evening.
The duo was proceeding on a Pulsar motorcycle towards Navelim when the accident occurred at Belem. Margao police said the 17-year old rider, Nisal, a resident of Rumdamol Housing Board, died on the spot after the motorcycle collided with a four-wheeler while in the process of overtaking.
The pillion rider, Amin Sheikh (17) was immediately rushed to the hospital. The police are investigating.
Meanwhile, a 55-year old woman Bibijan H, a resident of Rumdamol Housing Board succumbed to her injuries at the Goa Medical College and hospital, Bambolim on Wednesday.
Maina Curtorim police said the pillion rider had fallen down from a two-wheeler last night and had sustained serious injuries. She was immediately rushed to Hospicio and later shifted to GMC, Bambolim last night. She succumbed to her injuries today.
