PANJIM: The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) on Monday granted conditional bail to history-sheeter Zenito Cardozo in an abduction case reported on the outskirts of Panjim.
The Panjim Police had arrested him last week soon after the District & Sessions Court had rejected his anticipatory bail plea in connection with the crime, registered in June.
Cardozo, also being investigated in the infamous St Cruz shootout, is charged with abducting a local at Taleigao in June over a property dispute. The victim was though released by Cardozo and his gang soon thereafter, but with a threat. The released local had then lodged a police complaint.
The JMFC has directed the accused to furnish personal bond of Rs 15,000 and two sureties of the like amount.
Cardozo, earlier, served seven days in police custody in the St Cruz incident that saw deadly attack on rival Imran Bepari and murder of a fellow colleague Sonu Yadav. Cardozo is charged with attempt to murder.
