PONDA: The Zingadimal-Curti locals have complained to the village panchayat that the garbage dumped in their area has become an eyesore.

The locals have asked the Curti-Khandepar Panchayat authorities to check the garbage menace before it becomes a permanent waste-dumping site.

The Zingadimal locals have said that of late some persons have started dumping their waste by the roadside. This litter, they said, has started not only become an eyesore but also emanating foul smell which is increasing every day as it is not cleared by the panchayat authorities.

They said the stretch of the road which leads to the SAI Service, has also many educational institutions in the area. Stray cattle are also seen feasting on the garbage as the cattle-impounding authorities are conveniently ignoring to seize the strays.

“This area is slowly turning into a mini Sonsoddo. Before it becomes a hotspot for dumping garbage the Curti-Khandepar Panchayat should take action,” said Narendra Naik, a local from the area.

“Locals who use this stretch for their morning/evening walks have to bear the stench. This area has several houses with no proper garbage collection, which forces persons to dump their garbage at the roadside,” said Kalidas Gaude, another local.
