Zone changed from Orchard to Settlement in Anjuna

Chief Town Planner says alteration was done following directions from the State government

PANJIM: The State government has begun to undertake alteration of the errors in the Regional Plan 2021 and accordingly the zoning of a plot admeasuring 1,770 sq mtrs in Anjuna, is been changed from Orchard to Settlement. 

The Department of Town and Country Planning (TCP) had received an application on March 27, from Dattaprasad Vernekar and Mahavir Kasi Nadar under Sub-Section (2) of Section 17 of the Goa Town and Country Planning Act, 1974 for correction of inconsistent/incoherent zoning provisions in the RP 2021 in respect of plot of land admeasuring an area of 1,900 sq mtrs, surveyed under Survey No 89, Sub-Division No 9, of Anjuna village. 

In a notification issued, Chief Town Planner Rajesh Naik said that the alteration was done following directions from the State government. 

“In the RPG-2021, the zone of the part of plot of land admeasuring an area of 1,770 m2, surveyed under Survey No 89, Sub-Division No 9, of village Anjuna, Bardez Taluka, District North Goa, State of Goa, which is earmarked as Orchard Zone as per RPG-2021 is hereby corrected as Settlement Zone,” the notification stated. 

In January, the State government had amended the Goa Town and Country Planning Act, 1974, to undertake alterations or modification of the errors in RP 21 and correct the inconsistent or incoherent zoning proposals. The Chief Town Planner was granted powers to undertake the changes.
