file ZP nominations on Tuesday
PANJIM: On Tuesday, a total of 69 nominations
were filed for the upcoming ZP elections.
In all, 45 nominations were filed from North
Goa, while 24 were from the South. BJP filed 36 nominations, while 20 were from
independent candidates. Congress and MGP filed five nominations, each, while
two were from AAP.
The total number of nominations filed so far
has reached 90 – 54 from the North and 36 from the South.
BJP
announces third list of candidates
PANJIM: BJP on Tuesday announced its third
list of candidates for the upcoming ZP elections, which included eight
candidates, six in South Goa and two in North Goa.
In the North, the candidates are Diksha
Kanolkar (Sirsaim) and Shruti Ghatwal (Latambarce).
In the South, BJP has nominated Shramesh
Bhosle in Betki-Khandola, Shivram Naik in Veling-Priol, Sanjana Velip in
Guirdolim, Suresh Kepekar in Rivona, Shobhana Velip in Poinguinim and Anita
Thorat in Sancoale.
BJP has so far announced 23 candidates in
North Goa and 16 in South Goa.
BJP President Sadanand Tanawade added that the
final list would be declared on Wednesday evening.
North
and South ZP will have BJP flag: Dy CM Kavlekar
CURCHOREM: BJP candidate Khushali Jorgo Velip
filed his nomination papers for Barcem ZP constituency on Tuesday in the
presence of Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar.
Addressing the media, Kavlekar said that Velip is a well-experienced three-time
ZP member and that he is confident that he will win for the fourth time. He
added that Velip has supporters from the five panchayat areas, namely
Molcornem, Barcem, Morpirla, Cavrem-Pirla and Fatorpa. Kavlekar further claimed
that the North and South ZP will have a BJP flag as this is the first time,
elections are being contested on party lines. Meanwhile, BJP’s candidate
Sidhant Gauns Dessai filed his nomination for Xeldem ZP before the Quepem
Deputy Collector on Monday in the presence of Power Minister Nilesh Cabral and
his supporters.
Hectic
day for South Goa ZP nominations
MARGAO: Two political parties and four
independent candidates filed their nominations for the South Goa Zilla
Panchayat elections on Tuesday. These are: Marcelina Figuereido e Colaco – AAP
(Nuvem); Michelle Rebello – Congress (Curtorim); Breezy Asha Neelam Barretto –
IND (Nuvem), Antonio Rodrigues – IND (Velim); Edwin Cardozo – IND (Navelim) and
Minguel Cardozo – IND (Navelim).
13 nominees for Bardez, 5 in Pernem on Tuesday
MAPUSA/ PERNEM: A total of thirteen
nominations
were filed on Tuesday for the upcoming ZP
elections in Bardez and similarly, five nominations were filed in Pernem.
The candidates who filed in Bardez, which
included a dummy candidate are: Dattaprasad Dabholkar – BJP (Calangute); Nidhi
Shirodkar – BJP (Anjuna), Neharika Mandrekar – BJP (Anjuna); Pallavi Dabholkar
– IND (Siolim), Sanisha Toraskar – BJP (Siolim), Savita Govekar –BJP (Siolim);
Umesh Kavthankar – IND (Colvale); Ashley Lobo – BJP (Socorro), Karthik Kudnekar
–BJP (Socorro); Karan Govekar – BJP (Reis Magos), Rupesh Naik – BJP (Reis
Magos); Radhika Sawant – BJP (Penha De Franca) and Smita Kalangutkar – BJP (Penha
De Franca).
The candidates who filed in Pernem are: Anant
Gadekar –BJP (Arambol); Dhananjay Shetgaokar – BJP (Morjim); Manohar Dhargalkar
– BJP (Dhargal), Seema Khadpe – BJP (Torxem) and Rangnath Kalshavkar – IND.
8 candidates file nominations from Bicholim
BICHOLIM:
Eight candidates filed their nominations for the ZP elections on Tuesday from
Bicholim taluka. These are: Govind Mandrekar
– Congress (Latambarcem); Premendra Shet, Rajesh Kalangutkar and Krishna
Volvoikar – IND (Mayem); Yogesh Pednekar – MGP (karapur); Gopal Surlakar – BJP
(Pale), Mahesh Sawant – BJP (Karapur) and Shankar Chodankar – BJP (Mayem).
Pobrez Vaz files nominations from Cortalim
VASCO: Pobrez Vaz
filed his nomination for the upcoming ZP election from Cortalim on Tuesday at
the Mormugao Deputy Collector’s office. Speaking about his plans, Vaz said he
will fight for people’s rights, farmers’ rights and oppose doubling of railway
tracks, Mini India project. He added that he will work for sustainable
development of the ZP area.
8 file nominations in Ponda, 2 in
Dharbandora
PONDA: While no
nominations had been filed earlier, on the fifth day, eight candidates filed
their ZP nominations for Ponda talula.
These included four from
MGP: Ganpat Naik (Quela), Damodar Naik (Veling-Priol),
Vishwajeet Naik (Bethki-Candola) and Priya Chari (Curti).
From Congress, Mukund
Gawade filed his nomination from Usgao–Ganjem.
The remaining three were
independent candidates: Nonu Naik (Bethki
Candola), Vithal Borkar (Borim) and Poonam Samant Borim).
Elsewhere,
in Dharbandora taluka, two BJP candidates filed their nominations, namely, Sudha
Govind Gaonkar (Dharbandora) and Suvarna Subodh Tendulkar ( Sanvordem).
