PANJIM: Deputy Chief Minister, Francisco D’Souza and keynote speaker Naguesh Sardessai stressed on devolution of powers and the usage of funds by municipalities while speaking at the Zilla Panchayat Day celebrations Wednesday.
“Zilla panchayats are deprived of powers and funds in Goa and we don’t have three-tier system like in other states,” Sardessai said.
President of North and South Goa Zilla Panchayats, Jayesh Salgaoncar, and Nelly Rodrigues, former president of Zilla Panchayat of North Goa Pandurang Parab, ZP members Prakash Naik and others were present.
